Parent Support Group

Educational Options offers parent support groups in the San Diego County area for families whose children are in or have been in residential programs. The groups are attended by parents whose children are at various stages in the placement process ranging from parents who have recently placed their child to parents whose child have graduated and are living at home.

We use open-ended discussion, therapeutic activities, and didactic instruction. Parents share their thoughts, concerns, and issues with each other, thus creating a community of support where parents can learn from each other and from professionals.

Parent/Teen Coaching

In this very difficult world we live in, it is critical for parents to understand how their role changes as children grow. There is so much to negotiate in the life of a teen and as parents, we need to understand how to educate and support them. Coaching can be a cost effective and powerful tool.
